On April 10, 2002, Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofing vacated their 31,000 square foot facility on Kirby Street and relocated into their new 106,000 square foot facility within Premier Business Park. Savage Precision Fabrication, Inc., a parts manufacturer for the aerospace industry, relocated to Wylie from Garland in 1995 with assistance from the WEDC. Occupying 36,000 square feet in what was previously the Johnston building, Savage was a key component to the revitalization of downtown Wylie over the past 15 years.

With the assistance of the WEDC and the City of Wylie in 2009, Savage has again expanded operations to a new 60,000 square foot facility within the WEDC owned Premier Plaza Business Park. "It is only fitting that a local business whom we [WEDC] have assisted with three separate expansions, is the first business to build with our new business park", stated WEDC President Marvin Fuller.

Savage is a family owned business operated by Chief Executive Officer W.T. Gardner, President JoAnne Gardner, and Vice President Carole Gardner. The new Savage facility was constructed by Raymond Construction
