Around Town

Enhanced Infrastructure

Much of Wylie's growth has occurred in the past 10 years. In an effort to accommodate that growth, most primary roadways have, or will soon be, widened.

Educated Workforce

Wylie is home to an extremely diverse and well educated workforce. Skills and knowledge levels provide a large pool for potential employers to draw from.

Family Oriented

Wylie is a family-based city with many community activities and a sense of home. Throughout its growth, Wylie has retained the small town feel.
Construction Underway on Clark Street Development

Construction is underway on Clark Street Development’s 155,000 sf Woodbridge Centre project anchored by Kroger Marketplace, which opened July 21, 2013. At this time, at 124,000 square feet, it is the largest Kroger Marketplace in Texas. The site is located at the SWC of FM 544 (a prime retail corridor in NE Dallas) and Woodbridge Parkway and directly across from Wylie High School, a junior high school and an elementary school.

Collin County has approved and committed to the extension of Woodbridge Parkway to connect to the next main arterial to the south, Highway 78. Woodbridge Centre enjoys cross-access to B&B Theater’s new state of the art all–digital-projection 12-screen theatre, which opened in April, 2013, located adjacent to and immediately south of the retail project.

New Businesses Expand Tax Base

bbSeveral new retail outlets will soon be opening in Wylie due, in part, to the efforts of the Wylie Economic Development Corporation. Sam Satterwhite, Wylie EDC's director recently gave an update to the Wylie Chamber of Commerce on the City's work to expand Wylie's tax base and provide new and exicting retail, entertainment and employment options for citizens of Wylie.

Scheduled for opening in 2012 and 2013:
